Directions Training has an immediate opening for a Project/Program Manager to join our customer service oriented training solutions team.
 
Qualifications
  • Passionate self-driven Project/Program Manager who can work across teams to achieve the best results for our customers!
  • Has a track record in program management, with experience through the full product life cycle, including participation in vision creation, feature design, spec progress, project scheduling and release management.
Responsibilities
  • Creates, manages and distributes project schedules, meeting agendas, minutes and action item lists, project status and exception reports.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional groups through the product development life cycle and communicates project status across the organization.
  • Escalates to proper management level when required.
  • Helps define and improve the process and success metrics.
  • Develops a strong knowledge of company systems and infrastructure.
  • Develops a strong knowledge of company products and services and how our customers use them.
  • Provides project oversight including effective management and implementation of schedule activities and coordination of project teams.
  • Develops and deploys project management timelines, milestones, performance metrics, and an inventory of deliverables.
  • Prepares and facilitates project review meetings, as well as project scheduling, controls, procedures, and project implementation plans.
  • Drives key communications to appropriate groups to keep them abreast of key changes and potential impact of the project outcome through published status reports.
  • Maintains excellent relationships with internal resources, vendors, customers, and contractors, fostering a team approach to issues and opportunities.
  • Runs complex projects/programs from design and development to production.
  • Defines resources and schedules for project/program implementation.
  • Create strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning.
  • Efficiently identifies and solves project issues.
  • Demonstrates leadership to define requirements for project risk.
  • Designs and maintains technical and project documentation.
  • Strong organizational, presentation, and customer service skills.
  • PMP certification is a plus.
  • Cultivates existing relationships with vendors with the goal of ensuring sufficient space and resources and access to services.
  • Develops and implements strategies that will maximize the synergies among program areas.
  • Implements a professional development program to address employee experience and skill gaps.
  • Demonstrates success in developing and evaluating program models, and selecting and successfully operationalizing innovative programs.
  • Proficient in using technology as a management reporting tool and has experience working with information technology staff to develop and implement program evaluation systems.
  • Strong project management skills managing complex, multi-faceted projects resulting in measurable successes and program growth.

Qualifications
  • Two year minimum professional training experience.
  • Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT preferred).
  • Certifications in SQL 2005/2008, .NET 2.0/3.5 (preferred).
  • Excellent customer service and communications skills.
  • Previous experience in the computer training industry (preferred).
  • Consulting experience (preferred).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment under pressure.
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or Computer Science.
  • Adult Learning educational experience (preferred).
  • Demonstrate proficiency in technical translation and real world application of training delivered.
  • Must have superior listening and oral communications skills along with the ability to assess other's level of comprehension.

  • Deliver expert technical training in the Enterprise & SMS&P market segments on Microsoft products at one of Directions technology centers (located in Oak Brook, Chicago, Springfield and Vienna) or on client site.
  • Facilitate conference calls with clients to assess training needs and scope out consulting engagements.
  • Analyze, review and upgrade training content and prepare for new courses.
  • Communicate effectively with Sales, Training and other departments as needed.
  • Meet a high level of professionalism in conduct, appearance, training standards and technology skills.
  • Stay current on and plan for emerging Microsoft developer technologies.
